Mayor Macksey Sets Ambitious Agenda for North Adams in 2026

North Adams Mayor Jennifer Macksey enters her third term with a packed agenda for 2026. Fresh off her election win, she’s pushing forward on major priorities: launching the Greylock School project, tackling long-needed infrastructure repairs, and reopening the Brown Street Bridge. She’s also keeping pressure on Boston to recognize the role Western Massachusetts plays in the state’s creative economy.

Housing and affordability remain critical challenges. Macksey plans to expand the city’s housing options through new partnerships, an Affordable Housing Trust, and regional collaboration on homelessness and mental health. With rising costs and shrinking federal support, she’s trying to hold the line on taxes while keeping North Adams’ momentum alive.
